In this series I will take one player from each team to add to my All 32 Bust Team for 2021.

RB: Joshua Kelley

Look, if I am going to be honest I am having a hard time coming up with one single bust on this Chargers starting roster. I think all three projected starters at wide receiver Allen, Williams, and Palmer produce as expected or better in their respective roles. I feel Ekeler; if he can stay healthy will be fire in this offense in 2021 as not only a pass catcher but a rusher as well. The 2020 Rookie of the Year, Justin Herbert, is going to pick up right where he left off, as one of the league’s most deadly passers. Even Jared Cook I project will shine as the teams Hunter Henry replacement. Look, I am not saying he is going to be top 8 in fantasy scoring at the position, but he has an opportunity to be top 12 for sure, and his current ADP makes him my favorite sleeper at the position. Therefore, for the bust candidate I am going more dynasty then redraft for this final AFC bust selection of 2021 and going with second year runner Joshua Kelley.

The old Charger regime drafted Kelley to be that complimentary piece to Austin Ekeler, but when he was given the opportunity, he did not produce. Joshua Kelley looked bad in his opportunities and eventually was usurped on the depth chart by Kalen Ballage. Fast forward to 2021 and the new coaching regime led by former Rams DC Brandon Staley. The staff felt the need to address this backup/complimentary role during the NFL Draft by selecting Larry Rountree in the sixth round. I am well aware that RB’s drafted in the sixth usually do not have a snowballs chance in Hell in becoming fantasy relevant, however I get the feeling that Roundtree could emerge as a factor if Ekeler were to go down with injury. Rountree has that Zack Moss run style, Thunder, to his game, which I think the Lynn regime was wanting/hoping for in Kelley. I know this is not a high profile Bust candidate, but I look at it this way, if you draft a Chargers starter in 2021, you have a better chance at more boom then bust.
