Week 9 Waiver Targets

Updated: Nov 3, 2021

QB’s To Target:

Taysom Hill (NO):

-#1 Waiver Add at Position- With Jameis out for the season with an ACL Hill figures to take back the starting job. As he showed last season filling in for Brees he as QB1 upside, thanks in part to his legs. I fully expect this team to go run heavy moving forward. Get Hill if he is available.

Tua Tagovailoa (MIA):

-#1 Streamer for Week 9- Gets Houston this week. That is all!!!

Other Waiver options:

Tyrod Taylor

Justin Fields

Mike White

RB’s To Target:

Adrian Peterson (TEN):

-#1 Waiver Add at Position- With Derrick Henry out likely the rest of the fantasy season AP becomes the top get at the position. AP was signed to practice squad, but will likely be called up rather quickly and will see RB2 production with a likely 15-20 touches per game workload coming. Peterson is 36 years old but he proved late last season he can handle a 15+ workload as he is well conditioned. Jeremy McNichols is a PPR add as well, as his pass-catching role should remain intact. Keep tabs on Pre-Season standout Mekhi Sargent from Iowa, who the team loves and flashed upside this off season.

Mark Ingram (NO):

-#2 Waiver Add at Position- Looked good in his first game back in this Saints offense. As I stated above I project the Saints to rely heavily on ground attack, which offers flex appeal for Ingram playing behind Kamara. If Kamara were to suffer an injury Ingram would immediately become a mid to high range RB2 for fantasy. Get him rostered.

Other Waiver options (For a week or two rental):

Boston Scott

Carlos Hyde

WR’s To Target:

Van Jefferson (LAR):

-#1 Waiver Add at Position- With DeSean being given permission to seek trade, Jefferson as locked up that third receiver role on this explosive Ram offense. Jefferson has looked great and has been seeing 6+ targets on average, in fact he has 6+ targets in four of his last six games. Jefferson needs to be rostered in all leagues now.

Jamal Agnew (JAX):

-#2 Waiver Add at Position- Urban has finally found his Percy Harvin. Agnew makes for a nice weekly PPR bye week fill in as he has seen 7, 6, 12 targets over the past three games. We can now count on that Hunter Renfrow type floor for Agnew, which is 4-5 catches per week.

TE’s To Target:

Pat Freiermuth (PIT):

-#1 Waiver Add at Position- Baby Gronk has arrived. Freiermuth saw his production and role increase going into their week six bye, and saw the same usage last week coming out of the bye. In both of those games, Freiermuth saw seven targets. Freiermuth appears to be inline as the guy most to benefit from the JUJU injury. He needs to be rostered now, because this situation has the feel of a second half breakout.

Dan Arnold (JAX):

-#2 Waiver Add at Position- Is a must add as he has averaged almost 8 targets / 4 catches/ 47 yards through his first three games as a Jaguar. There will be plenty of negative game scripts for Arnold to be involved and take advantage of. Add him if you have room.
